Trail Run Recap

I’m not sure about all of you, but I’m feeling pretty inspired after the event on Saturday! Between the gorgeous weather, the beautiful setting, the hundreds of smiling faces, people completing their first ever 5K, 10K’ers dominating the hills, and everyone pushing it to the limits… kind of hard not to feel inspired. Our mission now is to keep that inspiration going and use it to better ourselves and reach other people. So please stay engaged this week as we share ‘what’s next.’

Race & Raffle Winners and Party Recap

Thanks to everyone that made it out to King Avenue 5 to celebrate afterwards with us. It’s just about as much fun to see laughing faces enjoying a good time, as it is to see all the grimacing faces crossing the finish line. Hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Congrats to all of our race winners! Please check results to see if you were an overall winner for the 5K or 10K, male and female (1,2,3) . Or if you were age group winner (1,2,3) for either race, male and female. Send us a message and we’ll get you hooked up.

Raffle Prize Winners. A few of you had to leave the party early, but won something. Follow up with us and we’ll send you what you won. (Melissa Bailey, Teresa Haro, Becky Mueller, Susan Work, Callie Dunn, Casey Routledge).

More prizes to come! Check back in this week as we will be giving away more “most outstanding photo” prizes.  (most inspiring; most painful 10K stair climb face; best pup photo; funniest photo). we will post photos soon!

Huge thanks to King Avenue 5 for hosting us, to Andy Shaw for making sweet music and to Quinn Charney for your amazing rendition of ‘Call Me Maybe’. Great celebration!

Feedback Wanted

Please share your feedback with us! What was the best part of the event… and what’s 1 thing you would change. How did you find out about our run? (leave a comment below, or send us an email)

Also – we are always looking for inspiring stories and messages to share with our followers. Your story may inspire someone… its worth it, share it! (send to info@flipnow.org)

Thanks!

Wow! We have amazing friends, enthusiasts and supporters. Thanks to everyone that helped contribute to make this such an awesome event. Thanks to all of our runners and walkers… you are fueling a powerful movement!

HUGE thanks to our volunteer teams for your efforts and keeping us organized, safe, hydrated, photo bombed and on course!   Thanks to – The Weber crew for running the 10K water stop; Komen Young Professionals for running the 5K water stop; The Morgan Stanley team for helping with registration; our interns, Carolyn and Emily and their friends and family for all your hard work and keeping everyone on course; and to Laura and Bryan for your mad photography skills!

Thanks to Columbus Running Company for helping us put on a great event. You guys brought the noise this year. And yes Andy, you are welcome to use our playlist for your other runs. Thanks for the compliment too… “best run playlist ever. Our playlist is weak sauce compared to yours” – Andy.

Matt Barnes, we can’t thank you enough! Matt, from NBC4 (@Matt_NBC4) kicked off our run with a very inspiring message and then stuck around (unexpectedly) to cheer on every last runner across the finish line! We’ve been searching for a media personality and “face” of the organization to represent us. I think we found him!

A very big thanks to everyone that donated prizes to help make our after party celebration a lot of fun. We will send everyone individual thank you’s… but want to give a special thanks to Earl Morse and Honor Flight for running the race, giving an inspiring speech and donating such a cool prize. We’ll have to run that back… it was a HUGE hit.

Thanks also to our teams and prevention partners that helped promote the event – OHventures; St. Judes of Columbus; … and to the folks that organized teams and helped us fundraise: Flipp’n Sweet, Team Advocare, Morgan Stanely, More Cowbell, Kingston’s Bobsled Team, Bearcats Run Against Cancer… and all the other awesome teams!

Thanks to Josh Misthal for the incredible designs and to The MaCray Company for all the great print work.

Thanks to everyone else that contributes and supports our cancer prevention mission! You all are amazing.

Stay tuned for more this week…
