Don’t look now but summer is flying by…
Wait a minute – wasn’t this the summer you promised to get back into those favorite jeans or your favorite swimsuit? Instead the summer parties, margaritas and dip have led to a few added pounds.
How long have you been saying I will start my diet or exercise program tomorrow?
Now is the time to get started!
1. Schedule your workout. Make sure you have your workouts planned. Figure out what time of the day works best and write it on your calendar, put a reminder on your phone. If it is not scheduled chances are you will push it aside and it will never happen. Eventually it will become a habit. Until it does make sure that it is scheduled!!!
2. Make it fun. No one looks forward to doing things that are not fun. Find a way to move your body that you enjoy. If you hate to run – don’t! If going to the gym makes you crazy – stay out of the gym. Seriously, there are so many options. Find one or two that you enjoy and have fun!
3. Set daily, weekly, and monthly goals. Small goals will get you to where you need to go. Set them, share them and celebrate them!
4. Concentrate on starting not finishing. Just get moving. Once you start chances are you will keep going especially if you are doing something you enjoy. If you can just start and do as much as you can you will start to feel and look better. Who knows working out could even become a habit.
5. Find a workout partner. Find someone with similar goals and make a pact to support, push and motivate each other. Discuss your goals and celebrate along the way.
If these steps don’t get you moving let me know!
