FLIP is sponsoring a day dedicated to cancer prevention awareness on Saturday Sept, 8th. Our biggest goal is to help people realize how preventable cancer is. We already know how much it sucks… now let’s forget about cancer and talk about having fun, enjoying life, doing what we want, eating great food, playing until we forget , laughing until it hurts and thriving as individuals, as families, as friends!
Don’t sign up, don’t pay a fee, don’t wake up super early (unless your into that) and definitely don’t register by any deadline. Just do your own thing. The only thing we ask, is that you…
Do it for a reason
Honor someone’s memory by vowing you won’t let cancer affect you or your loved ones. Do it for yourself! Do it for your kids. Do it because you enjoy it. Do it because it’s September, the weather is awesome and the Buckeyes aren’t playing any one important. So, what am I doing exactly? …
Do whatever you want
The coolest part about prevention is there’s so many unique ways to come at it. Being active is a great start – I think we can all think of a 100 different ways to be active on a nice weekend. Do something you enjoy and have fun with! Another idea – its football season! what better way to celebrate prevention than to plan a cookout with friends.
Inspire someone
We can’t resist squeezing the ‘inspire’ message into this event. It’s makes too much sense not to. What a perfect opportunity to ask somebody you want to inspire to do something fun with you. We all have great ambitions to help/inspire others, but our meetings, appointments, games and lives sometimes get in the way. Well, no excuses this time… put it on the calendar, hold to it. Its so worth it!
If you feel so inclined… share your story.
Think about what you want to do, why you want to do it, and who you might do it with. After Sept 8th let us know about your experience. We’d love to hear from you. And we typically like to have fun via contests… stay posted.
in the meantime… spread the word! (fwd our newsletter, repost our facebook updates, send this link to someone)
