Although FLIP’s mission is cancer prevention, we’ll never pass up the opportunity to help friends, family and other charities by supporting their causes. Great friends and former co-workers (from Weber) are putting on a ping pong tournament to raise money to put Mito on the Map.
Mitochondria Disease is a life-threatening condition that affects children of all ages… and has impacted the child of a friend from Weber.
In addition to helping a great cause… this ties in very well to FLIP’s mission of inspiring activity. Ping pong (played the right way) is an exhilarating, full contact test of stamina, strategy and heart!
Please consider making a pledge to help put Mito on the Map! Click here to to quickly and easily make a pledge
Full disclosure: I’m a pretty intense ping pong player and plan to make a deep run into the tournament. So, if you’d like to make a more conservative pledge (i.e. the more points scored, the more money you donate), consider several of these “safer bet” players from the drop down list:
Peter “past his prime” Beaupre… stamina could be a real issue
Zach “dino arms” Pavol… lacks the reach, refususes to move his feet
Matt “the tornado” Minerd… unpredictable as they come
Jason “matrix and metrics” Halmagy… if he can stay focused on the point totals and the table quadrants, he stands a chance
