Q: How long have you been a part of FLIP’s Board?

A: 7 months

Q: What excites you most about being a board member on FLIP’s team?

A: The ability to educate people in healthy living and cancer prevention.

Q: How would you describe your current state of health and wellness? Also, what is your #1 tip for living a cancer preventative lifestyle?

A:  I have always been very health conscious. I grew up with parents that tried to be really healthy and educate us to live healthy, too. My #1 tip is to just be aware. There are so many harmful things out there to our health right now and it’s impossible to avoid everything all the time, but just be aware and conscious of your surroundings, behaviors and decisions and it will be helpful in the long run.

Q: Are there one or two “simpleFLIPs” that you have made to your daily routine? If not, what is one that you could make?

A: Eating less processed foods and getting enough exercise. Processed foods and prepackaged foods used to be my go to, but now I spend more time planning meals and learning recipes to make things more natural.

Q: What places/events around your community help you stay energized throughout the fall?

A:  I love walking trails. I walk for an hour a day at least with my two puppies and it’s especially nice in the fall weather.

Q: Did you trick-or-treat this year?

A:  I did not, but next year I will be back in the trick or treating game with my new baby boy!
